Enhancing countermeasure system for WTO/TBT
We are enhancing systems to respond to the WTO and TBTs through TBT consortiums, private-public councils, and more, and further supporting exports by transferring Korean-type standards certification systems to developing countries, etc.
Finding difficulties and provide information for exporting business
We find and analyze difficulties that exporting businesses encounter due to technical regulations, and further provide real-time information to organizations and companies in related industries through our TBT portal(www.knowTBT.kr)
Smooth implementation of WTO/TBT, FTA/TBT agreements and negotiations
Establishing an implementation system for WTO/TBT agreements
We form and operate public and private councils, share technical regulatory information overseas through international cooperation and respond to current issues.
Strategic response to FTA/TBT negotiations and implementation
We undertake strategic negotiations to resolve TBT problems from multilateral trade negotiations, such as the Korea-China-Japan FTA, RCEP, and TPP, and effectively respond to the implementation of FTA/TBT agreements with more than 50 countries, including the USA, the EU, China, etc.
Establishing a base for rational technical regulatory assessment that promotes business activity
Performing technical regulatory effectiveness assessment to actively respond to domestic technical regulations.
We establish and operate a general system for technical regulatory effectiveness assessment for all ministries.
We improve irrational aspects of technical regulations that put burdens on business, such as discordance between standards technology, overlapping certifications, etc.
Establishing and operating an integrated information system for national standards and certification
We integrate information management of standards, technical criteria and certification systems of all related ministries, as well as prevent unnecessary overlaps.
We provide an information service for more than 20,000 types of standards, 2,000 technical criteria, and 200 certification systems.
